Byrnes Welcomes Democratic Opponent To The Debate

Caledonia, NY—Marjorie Byrnes (R-C, Caledonia) issued the following response to the campaign announcement made by her opponent today:

“I welcome Barbara Baer, my Democratic opponent, to the race for the 133rd Assembly District. Barbara and I are both committed to civil dialogue and serious debate concerning the varied issues affecting Livingston, Monroe and Steuben Counties.  However, she and I have fundamental differences regarding the solutions our state needs.”

“The people of the 133rd will decide if the policies of Nancy Pelosi and Andrew Cuomo are what they desire for our district. The voters will weigh the merits of single-payer healthcare that Barbara Baer and Democratic socialists are proposing. I am confident that following serious dialogue, the people of the 133rd will see that the plans conservative-minded Republicans, like myself, are offering—limited government, tax relief for middle class families, less onerous regulations for small business, safety for our public schools and fewer Albany mandates—will serve our communities better than the policies proposed by Ms. Baer’s downstate-dominated Democratic Party.”
