Byrnes Declares Victory In 133rd Assembly District

Caledonia, NY—Last night, Marjorie Byrnes secured the Republican nomination in the Primary Election for the 133rd Assembly District. Ms. Byrnes’ victory assures her two lines, Republican and Conservative, in the General Election. Following the release of the decisive election night results, Byrnes said:

“I appreciate the people of Livingston, Monroe and Steuben Counties who cast their ballots for real representation and a raised voice in Albany. We can all respect Asm. Errigo’s past service and willingness to come out of retirement to help stabilize this seat in what was a tumultuous time for this district. To Mr. Errigo, I offer sincere appreciation for his service to the constituents of this region.”

“Turning to the November election, I look forward to participating in debates with my Democratic opponent and discussing the issues that affect our district.”

“For starters, we must address school safety. Our children are our most precious asset. They trust us to protect them, and I believe that includes a state-funded, armed resource officer in every school.”

“Second, we must increase infrastructure funding. Many of our bridges and roads are in a sad state of disrepair. There are rural areas of the 133rd where high-speed internet access is not even available. When you couple these deficiencies with New York’s excessive regulation and crippling taxes, it’s no wonder that family farms and small business are forced to close. People are fleeing this state. It must end.”

“Finally, it’s high time we restore respect for the Second Amendment Rights of responsible gun owners. The voters of this district still want to see a full repeal of the SAFE Act—and I want to help advocate to that end.”

“The fight for the future of this region took a bold step forward today. I look forward to a vigorous campaign between now and November.”
