Unshackle Upstate Endorses Marjorie Byrnes for State Assembly
Caledonia, NY—Unshackle Upstate, through its political action committee, UPAC, has endorsed Assembly Candidate Marjorie Byrnes (R-C, Caledonia) for New York State Assembly in the 133rd District.
Unshackle Upstate is a non-partisan, pro-taxpayer, pro-economic growth education and advocacy coalition made up of business and trade organizations from across Upstate New York. Its goal is to achieve changes in policy that make Upstate New York a stronger place to do business through controlled spending, reduced taxes, and reforming burdensome mandates and regulations.
“At Unshackle Upstate we believe in supporting candidates who support the issues that matter to the Upstate economy. We’re proud to endorse Marjorie Byrnes because of her commitment to reining in state spending, easing the tax burden on Upstate families and improving New York’s harsh business climate,” said Michael Kracker, executive director of Unshackle Upstate. “We strongly encourage voters in the 133rd Assembly District who want to see a stronger Upstate economy to support Marjorie on Election Day.”
Upon hearing the news, Ms. Byrnes said, “I’m pleased and honored to receive Unshackle Upstate’s endorsement. Unshackle and I agree that for too long Upstate New York has been held back by unfunded state mandates, burdensome regulations and excessive taxation. It needs to end.”
“I’m tired of watching Albany’s attention linger Downstate, while Upstate struggles with empty manufacturing facilities, vacant storefronts and foreclosed homes. Upstate needs to be a place where family farms and small businesses can thrive once again,” concluded Byrnes.
